Covid-19 Update: Since the beginning of lockdown, optical practices have been on the list of shops allowed to remain open (but not in our normal way) to provide essential and emergency services. Although our doors may appear closed this is to avoid face to face contact.
We're here to help
We are still here and have been providing a repair or replacement service for broken glasses plus a home delivery service on any glasses and contact lenses ordered. We have also provided remote consultations and made referrals for anyone with emergency eye related problems. And we are still continuing to do so.
Please call 01234 354343 if you need us.
We now have guidance from the government, the NHS and our professional optical bodies that it is safe to start providing routine eyecare again. Your safety and infection control still remain out top priority.
As a result, there have been lots of changes and preparations going on in the background to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all our staff and patients, new and old.
Eye sight and eye health are incredibly important and we really don’t want you to put off coming to see us, so we thought it would be beneficial to let you know of some of the things you can
expect when you next visit.
There will be a locked door policy in place to ensure there is reduced footfall into the premises. All patients and customers will be encouraged to book specific time slots for all visits.
There will be a reduced number of appointments available for eye examinations each day to ensure longer spacing between appointments. This will enable us to fully sterilise all equipment and frames previously tried by other patients. This will be done with alcohol spray, wipes and an ultra violet cleaner (UVC). Our aim is to have one patient in the practice at a time.
You will be asked to wear a mask and sanitise your hands upon entering the practice. We may even ask to check your temperature and to attend alone if possible.
We will have a screen up at reception and 2 metre distancing points all over the practice.
There will be major positive changes to the equipment used to examine your eyes following significant investment in new instrumentation. (Your Optometrist is very excited by this) Now eveything can be used in one room to reduce movement and time within the practice. But don’t worry, we won't rush you.
Your optometrist may be dressed a little differently, now wearing all the PPE necessary to protect you and herself. This is because it is virtually impossible to do all the tests 2 metres apart!
Part of your examination and discussion with your Optometrist/receptionist may take place over the phone. This is so we can be fully prepared for your individual needs and give you the very best care possible. Exactly what you deserve. 😊
Please bring your own pen, in case you need to sign anything during your visit.
We thank you for all your support during this time. We look forward to welcoming you back into practice very soon.
Remember eye sight and eye health are incredibly important.
Please don’t put off having your routine consultation, albeit in a slightly different way!
